Should you be proactive with the Ford airbag recalls?

Absolutely

You’ve read the news. You know about the massive recall of Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The headlines are scary. Check this one out: “Ford Recalls Nearly 1 Million Vehicles Over Potentially Explosive Airbag Inflators.” Not to be an alarmist or anything, but this is serious. There’s no click-bait in that headline.

Legacy Ford Lincoln service manager Steve Fullmer urges drivers to check for recalls.

Just be proactive and check for recalls.

Ford is urging owners of the following models to check immediately for recalls and then set up appointments with Ford service if necessary. As with all recall work, the parts are replaced free of charge.

So where should you start? First of all, don’t panic. But don’t take an “it’ll never happen to me” attitude, either. Just be proactive and check for recalls, either through the NHTSA, or by allowing us to help by contacting us below or scheduling service with us. We’ve been reaching out to Ford and Lincoln owners in our database to notify them about recall work. Still, we’re having trouble reaching everyone who needs it. Help us by sharing this post and the accompanying video. Our goal is to spread the word and keep people safe.

As a side note, you might consider signing up for NHTSA’s recall alerts. Manufacturers send notices, but this is just another safeguard to keep you driving recall-free in the future.
